Art supply problem?
I take a color pencil drawing class for fun at a local university. The teacher uses a "wheel" to determine the size that we could extend our original reference drawings. I reminded the conference that used to calculate the degree when I was a teacher. I would like know the name of this wheel and where I could find one. I've seen Pat Catan (a local arts and crafts store chain in northern Ohio) and Michael's-no luck. The device is simple and provides the right perspective when drawing. Thanks!

유럽인들 중에서 제 2형 당뇨병과 연관되는 유전자인 HMGA1의 특정한 이형이 존재한다는 사실이 학술지 ‘JAMA’지 최신호에 발표되었다. 제 2형 당뇨병 (Type 2 diabetes mellitus)은 전세계적으로 거의 2억 5,000만 명이 걸리고 있는 질환으로 가장 흔하게 당뇨병 부작용인 망막병증 (retinopathy)나 신장질환 그리고 심혈관질환과 같은 질환과 연관되어 있다. 근육과 신장 그리고 지방조직에서 나타나는 인슐린 저항성은 2형 당뇨병 환자들에게서 나타나는 가장 큰 특징이다. 지금까지 유전적인 요인이 제 2형 당뇨병의 인슐린 저항성을 일으키는 원인으로 생각되고 있다. 이번 연구에서는 “하지만 유전자 및 최근 유전체 전체연구 (genome-wide association studies)와 같은 연구를 포함한 광범위한 조사에도 불구하고 인슐린 저항성을 일으키는 공통적인 유전적 원인은 아직까지 밝혀지지 않고 있다”고 주장했다. 연구자들은 이전에 단백질인 HMGA1이 인슐린 수용체 (INSR) 유전자 발현의 중요한 조정자라는 것을 밝혀낸 바 있다. 이태리의 카탄자로 대학 (University of Catanzaro)의 의사인 안토니오 브루네티 (Antonio Brunetti) 연구팀은 HMGA1 유전…
